About Imperfect Pro

I’m not here to teach you a perfect system. I’m here because I’ve felt the same pressure — early in my career, and again when I moved from technical work into sales and the deals got bigger. Speed anxiety. Expectation anxiety. That next leap you can’t see yet. Imperfect Pro is me naming the gaps I kept seeing, so you feel less alone in them.

I’m originally from India. Cheltenham has been home for over 22 years. By day I’m a senior account executive at AWS ProServe, working with UK central government — welfare, economy and justice organisations. My roots are technical. My people skills were always strong, so I moved into sales. The deals I work on now are roughly five times larger, with bigger and more complex customers. The deep technical edge faded early. I still get excited when tech changes — I just prefer telling the story of its value over diving into every detail.

Who this is for

I write for people early in their career, and for people trying to level up, who feel the speed and the weight of expectations — or that uneasy “what’s the next leap?” feeling. If that sounds like you, I hope you feel a bit of connection here. I’ve felt some of that pain too. What I offer is experience, not lessons. And I’ll be honest: it may not work for you. That’s fine.

What I’m practising now

A recent gap I filled for myself was scheduling and a bias for action. I use a simple checklist, an end-of-day review, and I move outstanding items into a morning desk-clearing ritual. Small. Boring. It helps.

I no longer believe work is family. Colleagues are work. Boundaries matter — otherwise work leaks into personal life. My days look roughly like this: an hour in the gym, coffee, the school run, work until about six, coaching my daughter’s football, dinner, bed around half nine. I wake early.

Where I hope this goes

In a year I would love Imperfect Pro to feel like a small community — not only my posts, but other people’s growth stories too. Progress over perfection. Reading and practice without the theatre.
